Shiatsu®

Shiatsu is a manual therapy that originated in Japan.

® Shiatsu literally translated means finger pressure, “shi-fingers” and “atsu-pressure”.

The Japanese Ministry of health defines Shiatsu ® as:

treatment, which by applying pressure with the thumbs and palms on certain specific meridian points, and corrects irregularities, maintains and improves health, contributes to relieve certain illnesses like discomfort, pain, stress, nervous disorders, enabling the ability to regenerate the human body. Through the nerve endings located at the ends of the fingers (where they focus more sensory receptors than in any other part of the human body) – the Shiatsu therapist ® presses points and zones of the body, diagnosing and treating simultaneously.
